Please email an expression of interest, including a brief outline of how you would develop this role to the AM Admin Office admin@academyofmarketing.org
AM Research Committee
As announced at the AGM on the 9th July, the Academy of Marketing is seeking volunteers to join our leadership team on two of our sub-committees. This is a great opportunity to engage more closely with the Academy and demonstrate academic leadership in your career. In total the Research Committee (AMRC) are seeking 4 volunteers:
- Three new members are required for the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Sub-Committee, which proposes and co-ordinates the activities we put on for our ECR community (see here for our recent resources). We are looking for people committed to the capability development of ECRs to join this committee, not just people currently in ECR roles, and would prefer a mix of people at different career stages. One member of this committee will also be invited to join the Academy of Marketing Research Committee as The ECR Representative from July 2026. These are 3-year posts with an option to extend.
- One new Mid-Career Researcher to join the Academy of Marketing Research Committee (AMRC) as Mid-Career Representative. We are looking for someone in their mid-career (Lecturer B to Associate Professor / Reader) to identify and propose means by which the Academy can support mid-career aspirations. You would also act as a full member of AMRC. AMRC’s goal is to enhance the quality and standing of research in marketing through facilitating members’ research activities. You would also be involved in reviewing and allocating AMRC/Marketing Trust Research Impact Awards.
Anyone interested in these roles should email Prof. Iain A. Davies (Chair of AMRC) at iain.davies@strath.ac.uk with a paragraph (circa 300 words) explaining why you want to join these committees and what experience you feel you can bring to the roles.
AM Education Committee
As announced at the AGM on the 9th July, the Academy of Marketing is seeking volunteers to join our leadership team on the Education Committee (AMEDUC).
The AMEDUC coordinates activities, awards, grants and initiatives on teaching and learning for the Academy of Marketing. The aim of AMEDUC is to promote educational excellence and the development of a community of best practice. We support pedagogic innovation, career aspirations/ trajectories, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. You would also be involved in reviewing and allocating Worshipful Company of Marketors sponsored Teaching Excellence Awards, AMEDUC Pedagogic Research Grants and Mentoring Scheme.
This is a great opportunity to engage more closely with the Academy and demonstrate academic leadership in your career. We are seeking 2 volunteers for AMEDUC:
- One Early Career academic either an ECR or on the Teaching track. Early career is typically defined as within 5 years from completion of PhD or start of career. We would like the holder of this role to identify and propose means by which the Academy can support early career aspirations, pedagogic innovation and the scholarship of teaching and learning. You would be a full member of AMEDUC.
- One Mid-Career academic – either Research & Teaching, or Teaching track. We are looking for someone in their mid-career (Lecturer B to Associate Professor / Reader) to identify and propose means by which the Academy can support mid-career aspirations, develop a community of best practice, foster pedagogic innovation and the scholarship of teaching and learning. You would also act as a full member of AMEDUC.
Anyone interested in these roles should email Professor Laura Chamberlain (Chair of AMEDUC) at Laura.Chamberlain@wbs.ac.uk with a paragraph (circa 300 words) explaining which role you are interested in, why you want to join AMEDUC, and what experience or ideas you feel you can bring to the role.
